$10,000 Goal

Hope's Gate offers practical, life-giving hope to orphans, victims of human trafficking, and the world's most vulnerable.

We achieve our mission through our jewelry project, our education fund, vocational training, and mentoring. We send volunteer teams to train young people rescued out of human trafficking and those at risk of exploitation to make jewelry and other handmade items. Each person receives a fair wage for the items they make, enabling them to save for the time in which they must leave the shelter they are living in. Hope's Gate sells the handmade products to raise both awareness and funding and break the cycle of exploitation and hopelessness.

Education fund

In 2017, we started our education fund. We recognized the need to give the young people working in our project a way to transition from living in safe houses to re-integrating into society. To date, we have provided 59 full scholarships internationally. In addition, we have provided 6 partial scholarships within Wylie ISD.  Of these 59 students, 39 have graduated, with 20 currently enrolled.

Graduates

Today, we celebrate 39 program graduates. Each graduate represents a young man or woman who has taken steps toward independence and a new future. With your support, more young people can access to higher education and the resources they need to successfully transition into society.

Graduate Testimony:

Mercy grew up in Uganda in a family of eight after losing her father at a young age. With limited financial resources, her mother struggled to provide for the family’s needs. During this season, SIITA Nest Mother’s Love Home stepped in to provide support and stability.

Even with this help, continuing her education was not always possible. Through the Hope’s Gate Education Fund, Mercy was able to complete high school and pursue her dream of higher education.

She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and is now a qualified pharmacist working in healthcare. In her role, she supports the safe and effective use of medicines, serves patients, and continues gaining practical experience as she grows in her profession.

Where does your donation go?

Every contribution helps a student stay in school, remain in safe housing, and move closer to independence.

  • $ 94 buys textbooks and supplies for the year.
  • $500 provides safe housing for an entire year.
  • $2,000 sponsors a student's full educational needs for a year.
  • Every student who graduates is one less young person vulnerable to exploitation.
