We know the wide range of challenges and emotions child loss has brought into your life. There is comfort to be found from those who have suffered, yet move forward, through similar grief journeys. We come alongside mothers who understand. Who just “get it”. Who care very much about the healing and hope of those who navigate life after such deep sorrow.
HOPE DAWNING is a local non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to introduce and connect bereaved mothers in the community to the area’s faith-based healing resources. Through outreach and camaraderie-building events, mothers immediately benefit from knowing they are not alone in this potentially isolating experience. Attendees often express an instant bond with each other because of their common experience.
HOPE DAWNING’s recurring events range from casual dinners, to classroom series, to one-day local retreats. The largest outreach gathering is an annual mothers’ tea/brunch held each Mothers’ Day season. It is a special time to honor the mothers while remembering their children.
We have specifically curated the enclosed resource materials just for you. We are confident you will find some of them quite helpful in your healing journey.
HOPE – the confidence and assurance of what we do not see. DAWNING – the first glimmer of light after a long period of darkness. HOPE DAWNING stands ready to join hurting mothers on their path to healing after loss.
The purpose of Hope Dawning is to introduce and connect bereaved mothers in the local community to the area's faith-based counseling resources and grief support groups through outreach and camaraderie-building events.
Our annual Mothers' Event (held a week or two prior to Mothers' Day) lends itself to a wider variety of needs such as floral, venue fees, food, speaker fees, equipment rentals (tables, chairs, linens), decor, etc. We are in great need of a volunteer event planner as well!
Throughout the year we incur varied expenses including postage, printing and procuring grief books and other written resources.
There is comfort to be found from those who have suffered, yet move forward, through similar grief journeys. We come alongside mothers who understand. Who just "get" the challenges and emotions surrounding child loss.
We care very much about the healing of any mother that has experienced this deep sorrow and commit to connecting her with our area's faith-based healing resources. The mothers we serve vary greatly in age, background, and life experience. Interestingly, participants often express an instant bond with each other simply because of their common loss.
For many of our attendees, we are often the first step they have ever taken in navigating their grief journey. It is our goal to provide outreach gatherings, casual dinners, day/weekend retreats, informational materials, and grief books/devotionals/journals at minimal or no cost to participants.
As our name indicates, the word "Hope" is the confidence and assurance of what we do not see. "Dawning' is the first glimmer of light after a long period of darkness. We embrace any bereaved mother on her path toward hope and healing after the disappointing loss of a child.
