Home Visit Partnerships, a project of Stand for Children Leadership Center, supports educators in building trusting relationships with parents to support the academic and social success of students. The program trains educators to conduct relationship-building home visits, in-person or virtually, that focus on the hopes and dreams parents have for their children. After authentic relationships between educators and caregivers are established, teachers and school staff are more informed and better equipped to address specific student needs. The project has grown from 46 educators at 10 Dallas ISD schools conducting 328 home visits during the 2015-16 pilot to 3,387 educators conducting over 27,000 home visits since the program launched. This steady growth - from a small pilot to an initiative that has spread across North Texas - has occurred primarily by word-of-mouth among educators. Teacher after teacher has said to their colleagues, "Do this. It will change your perspective and it will change your practice."

Stand for Children is a non-profit education advocacy organization focused on ensuring all students receive a high quality, relevant education, especially those whose boundless potential is overlooked and under-tapped because of their skin color, zip code, first language, or disability.
