We have been serving our community for over 34 years. Although primarily a food pantry, the number of families needing financial assistance has greatly increased. The cost of rent is higher than ever. We are thankful that with the community support and Board approval, we have been able to keep our financial program sufficiently funded to meet the needs of our clients who qualify for financial assistance.
It is the intent to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give water to the thirsty, and welcome strangers as commanded by our Lord, Jesus Christ in the Book of Matthew 25:34-36
I end every bible study outside of here with "you are loved, you matter, you have purpose." While serving as a youth pastor we were teaching about how God has a purpose for each and everyone of us, and I had a 14 year old young lady tell me that night that no one had ever told her that she mattered or she had purpose. So, I told her "If no one has told you before, I want you to hear it from me, you are loved, you matter, and you have a purpose."
I have carried that principal into everything that I have done since then. So I want every individual that walks through our doors to know when they leave that they are loved, they matter, and they have purpose.
We always need food for our pantry. Most often we run low on peanut butter, canned meat containing meals such as chili and ravioli, canned tuna, canned chicken, and canned fruit. Virtually any staple item that you would need in your kitchen to make a meal.
We need funds for programs which include financial assistance to families in crisis. We need to provide rental/mortgage and utility assistance.
We have statements posted with regards to housing food, and financial. Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis of race, color religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin...
In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity (including gender expression), sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA (not all bases apply to all programs).
We have it posted in Spanish as well.
