BridgesWork continues to make an impact; increasing student academic performance at all grade levels as well as empowering the next generation of potential leaders to think service beyond self. On behalf of all of our students who have been empowered by your commitment and generosity, we thank you.
Annually BridgesWork supports over 150 students, many repeat participants, in grades 1-12 and beyond through summer and monthly Saturday enrichment programs. Our budgetary needs include funding to support our curriculum needs; entry fees for students for field trips; independent contractor stipends for certified teachers; stipends for college student internships; incentive items for students and parents to include student books, tee shirts, mission trip registration fees for our youth, and school supplies; nutritious meals and snacks during summer and Saturday sessions; annual licenses for access to internet leveled reading and problem solving activities on our iPads; and finally program supplies for our social and emotional learning lessons (SEL) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities, music, games/sporting activities, and extensive service projects.
To participate in the lives of children, equipping them through academic growth, spiritual development, and service to others so that each child can identify future dreams and build bridges to move from those dreams to reality.
SPECIAL SERVICE PROJECT NEEDS: Our annual, generic program needs are approximately $105,000, including lesson materials, field trip registration, and transportation costs, student incentives such as tee shirts, birthday candy bars and cards, guest speaker awards, lunch and snack items, mission trip registration fees and supplies, and teacher stipends. In addition, we have several service projects that all of our students in grades 1 through post-high school complete.
Our First Responders Project is a collaborative and impactful effort that allows all of our students to express their gratitude for the dedication and tireless efforts of our local emergency medical, law enforcement, and fire personnel.
In October and November of each year, students survey local fire and police personnel to develop a wish list of needed station and personal items. During our December Saturday session, representatives of each Bedford and Euless police and fire station are invited to come together with our students to receive their gifts. In 2024, students put together over 400 individual personnel appreciation bags and eight boxes of station supplies that had been requested in the surveys.
This project alone cost more than $1,500 in 2024. Each year, our students sincerely appreciate assistance from our supporters for their favorite projects.
