Bold Believers United Ministries

A nonprofit organization

Bold Believers United Ministries is a movement to AWAKEN, EQUIP & ACTIVATE Believers to boldly impact the world through uncompromised truth, love, power and unity. We were established in 2016 in Dallas TX by our Founder and Executive Director, Minister April Bowman, M.S.

Bold Believers United (BBU) provides leadership development programs, mentorship and events for youth, young adult women and families.  Supporting BBU allows the ministry to provide programs and services at minimal to no cost for our participants in which majority come from low-income households. This Fall BBU will host our TRANSFORMed YOUth in-person conference for middle and high school students across the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex on Saturday, 11/18/23 in Dallas TX. Additionally, this summer we will host our signature program, the C4 Camp, which stands for Christian, Character, College, and Career. C4 2024 will take place over 3 weeks in Dallas TX for middle and high school students. C4 began in 2017.  It grew from our founder April Bowman's passion to see youth from backgrounds similar to hers-low-income, first generation college students, believe in themselves, establish goals, and put in the hard work necessary to achieve their dreams and develop healthy relationships with other like-minded peers and adult mentors who are in pursuit of godly lives.

Designed to provide an alternative to the inauthentic connectedness of social media, C4 addresses the critical need young people have to develop a positive sense of self and real relationships in which they can bring their full selves, fears, and insecurities in exchange for real community, encouragement, and resources necessary to fulfill their God-given potential. At C4, this self-esteem is firmly rooted in an understanding that they are made in the image of God, with purpose, destiny, and immeasurable value in His eyes.

C4 is both a three-week summer camp at Southern Methodist University and a year-round leadership development program that provides holistic Christian character development; personalized guidance for college and careers; and one-on-one mentoring that encourages the building of healthy relationships, goal-setting, and achieving one's dreams.

Our Needs

Bold Believers United's greatest need is financial support for hiring part-time/contracted staff in the positions of Development Coordinator and Programs Coordinator. Additionally, we seek to offer full scholarships for youth to participate in our TRANSFORMed YOUth conference as well as our annual C4: Christian, Character, College and Career Camp and year-round C4 programming. Donations help to cover these scholarships and ensure we have qualified staff in place to provide exceptional, transformative, and accessible programming for youth who need it most.

Mission

Bold Believers United is a movement to ignite people everywhere to accept, experience, and live in an unrestricted relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit as well as one another. Our vision is to awaken, equip, and activate Believers to boldly impact the world through uncompromised truth, love, power, and unity. We specifically target African-American youth from underserved communities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

We are committed to a nondiscriminatory approach and provide equal opportunity for participation in all of our programs. We see diversity and equity as connected to our mission and critical to the communities we serve. We seek to assess inequities internally and externally and develop actionable steps to uproot them.
