The Azle Area Ministerial Alliance was founded in the 1970s as a small group of pastors supporting one another, and has grown into a movement among about 40 ministers and lay leaders, representing 30 or more Azle-area churches and ministries. Over the years, this dynamic group has grown in numbers and in its efforts to reach the Azle and surrounding communities for Christ. Due to tremendous support from area businesses, non-profits and civic organizations as well as individual servant leaders, the AAMA hosts a number of public special events each year in addition to a monthly luncheon meeting for its partners. A local commemoration of The National Day of Prayer; a Christian, patriotic celebration of Independence Day called Follow The Flag; and the Azle Lake Run, a half-marathon, 10K, 5K and one-mile Fun Run event, are popular, well-attended events hosted by the AAMA each year. The AAMA annually awards The Roland Earl Memorial Scholarship in honor of its founder, to several graduating high school seniors to help further their college educations. The Lew and Sandy Shaffer Award has been awarded annually since 2012, in honor of the beloved couple who founded Son Shine Ministries and Follow The Flag, to an individual who has exemplified the life of Christ in the community.
Christian Leaders partnering together with one voice to impact our culture for Christ.
