Caring for Kids so Families can Access Healthcare
Annie's Place (formerly Mommies In Need) provides childcare to families at no cost so that they can get the medical treatment they need. Founder Natalie Boyle went through cancer treatment while being a stay-at-home mom to twin toddlers, which is when she discovered the lack of resources for sick parents and created the organization. This Dallas-based nonprofit has grown into an organization that provides free childcare from professionally trained, trauma-informed nannies and teachers through in-home placements and through Annie's Place Childcare on the campus of Parkland Hospital. Knowing that a parent's health crisis can be a scary and confusing experience for young children, Annie's Place also offers a play therapy program, which provides complimentary counseling, crisis intervention, and parent consultations to address the complex needs of the families served.
All Annie's Place services are provided free of cost to families through generous donations and an outpouring of community support.

Annie's Place Childcare Center at Parkland
Annie's Place Childcare Center enables parents and guardians to fully focus on their own life-saving treatment while knowing that their children are safe and happy. Annie's Place Childcare Center cares for children ages 0-6 whose parent, guardian, or sibling is receiving treatment at Parkland. Annie's Place also supports medical staff by offering a limited number of spots at Annie's Place each day for emergency backup childcare.

Play Therapy
Our Play Therapy program supports parents who are experiencing a health crisis. We know one of the ways we can best support parents is to support their kids because a diagnosis is stressful for everyone in the family. Our licensed play therapist will support a parent by sharing the developmentally appropriate way to tell a child about a medical condition, how to discipline children with anxiety, depression, aggression, ADHD and other internalizing and externalizing behaviors, and help navigate a “new normal”.

Annie's Place At Home
The Annie's Place At Home program provides up to six months of full-time childcare for families dealing with cancer and other major illnesses and injuries, all at no cost to those served. Professional, trauma-informed nannies work with the same family for up to six months and are specially trained to support children and their parents during extreme circumstances. To date, this program has provided more than 22,000 hours of in-home nanny care to parents disabled by a health crisis.
