The purpose of Agape CDC is to provide tangible services to individuals and families, primarily in the food desert area of southern Dallas County. We accomplish this through our Food Pantry, K.D. Wesley Summer Youth Program and Resource Center.
Our goal is to empower our participants through programming and activities to enhance their knowledge of nutrition, physical fitness and health, STEAM education, financial literacy, and other available resources within our community.
In March 2020, when the world, and more specifically the state of Texas, was called to an unexpected halt due to the spreading of the deadly COVID-19 virus, our outreach to the community was catapulted into action. The immediate need at the time was to supply food to families already residents of an under-served community identified as a food desert.
While job furloughs and layoffs further impacted individuals, other urgent needs presented themselves in the form of financial assistance required for utility bills, rent/mortgage, and medications. As the need for more services expanded, so has our outreach to help meet the needs of those most vulnerable. We are Agape CDC!
