Equity Statement

Together We Can Win

The unacceptable death of Mr. George Floyd in Minneapolis has compelled people in communities across the globe to speak out against systemic racism. The Centers for Disease Control alarmed our country years ago when it addressed homicide as a leading cause of death among African American males. Whether dying while in police custody or by other means of violence, it is a topic America must address. There must be room at the table for us all to join in this discussion to tackle systemic and institutional racism.

While North Texas LEAD is not a civil rights or social justice organization, it is important we remain committed to connecting top diverse talent with employers who foster an environment of inclusion, opportunities for advancement and respect.

Our founding CEOs knew focused action steps would be needed to bring greater diversity to their leadership teams. Corporate partners of North Texas LEAD have encouraged the hiring of diverse talent. Because of their commitment to diversity, North Texas LEAD candidates serve in management and executive level positions. North Texas LEAD's Human Resources Executives Network focuses on strategies that enhance the appreciation of diversity in the workplace.

We continue to be guided by the vision of Retired Radio Shack CEO, Len Roberts who once said "Fort Worth will never be considered a world class city until people of all colors are able to live, work and enjoy the quality of life they choose."

We offer hope that cities across our North Texas region and beyond will achieve the world class status as described by Mr. Roberts.
