North Dallas Bulldog Support League

A nonprofit organization

Over the last few years, NDBSL funded a variety of academic and student organization needs: ESL/ELL materials, Debate Summer Camp, Yearbook needs, Student LULAC Convention, homeless and at-risk teen needs, counselor department needs, teacher and staff support, class sets of books, science equipment, dance equipment and on and on. In part because of support from former alums, North Dallas High School is growing in academic stature in Dallas ISD. Test scores, graduation rates and attendance are at their highest level. North Dallas has more students taking dual credit college courses than any other high school in Dallas ISD. 100% of homeless seniors graduated last year. With ongoing support from NDBSL, the students will continue on their path to success after graduation.

Our Needs

Our organization is currently supporting the school's efforts to add a health and counseling center to the campus. North Dallas High School has the highest enrollment of homeless teens in the city as well as a large population of English Language Learners. The extra funding needed to support these students and their families will have to come from organizations like ours. We also support student after school activities that keep them "hooked" on staying in school. In years past, we have supported the drill team, theater arts, LULAC, the debate team, the yearbook staff and the dance classes. Because the school year may look very different going forward, our organization plans to continue to support the needs of the students and faculty as they face the challenges of online learning for a high percentage of homeless teens.

Mission

NDBSL is a non-profit organization founded June 2010 to provide current North Dallas High School students the support they need to graduate with the tools necessary to succeed.
