Matilda’s Garden aims to find loving homes for cats in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We are an all-volunteer foster-based non-profit cat rescue dedicated to helping area shelters achieve high live release rates, treating animals humanely and with compassion, and ending cat homelessness in North Texas.
1. Adoption: Our primary focus at this time is adoption. We rescue cats and kittens who are are abandoned, or otherwise unwanted. We provide them with veterinary care and safe housing until they find their forever homes.
2. TNVR: We trap community cats, have them spayed or neutered, get them vaccinated, and return them to their homes outside. TNVR helps cut down on the community cat population without causing harm to the cats. If we have fosters , kittens or friendly adults are brought into our group for socialization and adoption.
3. Colony Cats: Matilda's Garden feeds colonies of abandoned cats & kittens. We've been doing this for years for residents that pass away, go into nursing homes or just move away. We TNR all colonies on our own fundraising.
4. Sanctuary for cats that were deemed We have been a part of a TNVR clinic for many years before Matilda's Garden. In 2018 we parted and rehomed all the kitties there at our own location. This stable is for pre existing kitties most of whom are getting on in years now. Matilda was the inspiration. She passed last year after many years. We still practice TNVR for this reason. Too many unwanted cats in Texas.
This is the only way to help and educate.
1. We are continuously in need of foster homes. The more fosters we have, we are able to save more lives. We have foster opportunities for bottle babies, weaned kittens, teenagers, adults, seniors and special needs.
2. We are always in need of volunteers to do regular cleaning & spend some play time with our adoptable cats at the adoption center of Petsmart, Euless. We also need volunteers to help with adoption events.
3. Supplies like cat food, litter, carriers, traps, pee pads etc. to run our day to day operation.
4. Monetary funds to cover emergency vet visits, spays and neuters, vaccinations, medications and microchipping.
How Your Donation Helps:
1. Animal Vetting: All animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, FIV/FELV tested, Fecal tested before adoption as well as there are medically challenging cases from time to time. Your donation will help us continue to do this.
2. Animal Supplies: Donations help provide necessary supplies like foods, litters, crates, bedding, toys and so much more to keep our cats & kittens happy until they are adopted out.
3. Care for Colony Cats: We use a 15-20 lbs bag & 12-15 cans of wet food every night to feed multiple colony cats. Your donation will help us continue this effort.
