Mission

Lena Pope's mission is to equip children, families, caregivers, and community with a strong foundation through counseling, education, and behavior interventions. Our vision is that children, families, and caregivers thrive, acting with confidence rooted in:

* meaningful relationships,

* emotional intelligence,

* effective communication skills, and

* strategic problem solving.

Needs

North Texas Giving Day falls during Suicide Prevention Month, an ideal time to support Lena Pope. We are continuing to see a high rate of suicidal ideation in our clients, and we are here to work with families who call us in crisis today. We also believe in the power of prevention and early-intervention strategies. We strive to lay a strong foundation for kids and families so hopefully they may avoid a crisis call in the future.

The work we do with children and families (starting at 6 weeks old!) can help them build emotional resiliency. For example, we believe teaching children to talk openly and honestly about emotions and communicating about their needs are early preventions to depression, anxiety, and suicide.

Your support today helps Lena Pope meet families in crisis and hopefully prevent future crises through our focus on mental and emotional health.

Equity Statement

The employees of Lena Pope are committed to equality and equity for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or socioeconomic status. We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger, more creative, and compassionate environment that delivers better results. Statements are not enough, and we are committed to holding ourselves and our organization accountable. By undertaking an intentional journey to examine ourselves, systems, policies, and practices, we seek to uncover bias, discover areas where we fall short and address them in order to grow.

We are committed to being a partner in diversity, equity, and inclusion to each other, those we serve, and our community.
