  1. The HREBA leadership and over 300 members are engaged in the mission of providing high quality homeownership education to the low and moderate income communities of Arlington, TX. We accomplish this by:

  2. Organizing Homebuyer Workshops and Seminars: We organize regular workshops and seminars that cover various aspects of homeownership, including budgeting, credit management, mortgage options, home maintenance, and the home-buying process. These events are conducted in collaboration with financial institutions, real estate professionals, and housing experts.

  3. Online Learning Platform: We are in the process of creating an online platform/website that offers free and accessible educational resources, such as video tutorials, webinars, articles, and interactive tools. This platform can serve as a centralized hub for individuals seeking information on homeownership.

  4. Financial Literacy Programs: We develop and implement financial empowerment programs specifically tailored to the needs of low and moderate-income individuals. These programs cover topics like building credit, saving for a down payment, and understanding the costs associated with homeownership.

  5. One-on-One Counseling: Provide personalized counseling sessions where individuals can meet with housing counselors to discuss their unique financial situations and receive guidance on the homebuying process. These sessions can help clients navigate the complexities of obtaining a mortgage and making informed decisions.

  6. Community Outreach and Partnerships: We collaborate with local community organizations, government agencies, and affordable housing providers to reach a broader audience. We host outreach events, fairs, or partnerships that promote our homeownership education services and connect potential homebuyers with resources and support.

In the last year we have supported communities and members with the following:

* Served in the community with Trinity Habitat for Humanity Cowtown Brush-up,

* Organized the 2023 Homeownership Fair & Experience in the community,

* Educated Real Estate Professionals at monthly luncheons,

* Offered free monthly CE credit to Realtor® Members,

HREBA is building a database of constituents that we communicate with on a monthly basis with information and news they can use as they prepare for sustainable homeownership and financial fitness. We have also built alliances with other non-profit with a similar mission to reach more families.
HREBA's membership of Licensed, Real Estate Professionals who volunteer their time and talent, continues to grow. These volunteers are dedicated and committed on a daily basis working our mission of serving the community.

Our Needs

Project E.C.H.O. (Establishing Credit and Housing Opportunities) has launched in partnership with Texas Bank Financial.  Project E.C.H.O. is a "credit building program" designed to provide the client access to a loan product which will help to establish or boost their credit profile. The proceeds, secured by the loan funds will be placed in a locked savings account, and will be given to the borrower only after the final loan payment has been made. Once the borrower has met all the requirements, they shall receive a one-time gift from HREBA. During the term, each client will receive monthly financial instruction from a trained volunteer.

Through, education, and community outreach we hope to make a bigger impact in the lives of the families we serve. Our mission through education is to help build generational wealth through home ownership.

Mission

Our Mission is to provide high quality homeownership and financial education to the low and moderate income community. Identify and provide training opportunities for Real Estate professionals to better serve this community.

Needs

For 2024, planning is underway to host two Reality Fairs in Tarrant County targeting youth ages 16 to 24. A Reality Fair is a simulation of an adult’s financial life that provides youth with an interactive experience for making real world financial decisions and managing money. Participants experience what it is like to have an account at a financial institution, decide how to use their money, obtain a loan, manage debt, and more. Reality fairs empower participants to be proactive about their financial futures and feel more confident in making financial decisions. At the fair, participants can practice healthy money management habits like saving money regularly and tracking spending, learn about the benefits of having a federally insured checking or savings account, and learn how to manage financial products and services responsibly. Your support will help fund these efforts. Thank you.

Equity Statement

We recognize and acknowledge diversity, equity, and inclusion as an essential cornerstone in the successful execution of our purpose and mission. Our core values, dedicated volunteers, and committed members, are the foundation in which we strive to help build trust and integrity within our diverse communities.
