Our mission is to preserve, protect, and conserve the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge for future generations.
The Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge has financially supported the Nature Center since its inception almost half a century ago. At more than 3,600 acres, the Nature Center is one of the largest urban nature parks in the country, welcoming more than 60,000 visitors a year. It is an incredibly unique resource for the North Texas community in its primary focus areas of conservation, education, and recreation. Featuring more than 20 miles of trails, this hidden gem is located just 20 minutes from downtown Fort Worth and is home to dozens of species of birds and other wildlife, including a bison herd that has captivated visitors for decades.
Mission
We need nature. We need natural spaces more than ever to help relieve the stress of living in uncertain times. The Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge is one of the largest urban nature parks in the country at 3,600 acres and 21 miles of trails. The Friends of the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge needs your help to maintain our support of the Nature Center.
