Fossil Rim Wildlife Center has long been a leader in wildlife conservation, dedicated to the care of every species across our 1,800-acre preserve. For over 40 years, we've focused on the survival of threatened and endangered animals—successfully breeding more than 200 cheetahs on-site, assisting in the reintroduction of the scimitar-horned oryx into the wild after decades of extinction, and serving as home to a large, active breeding herd. Our efforts have also supported the births of numerous southern white and south-central black rhinoceros calves, all within our expansive, semi-free-roaming habitats designed to support thriving herds.
We also play a vital role in the recovery of the Attwater's prairie chicken, one of America’s most endangered birds. Through close collaboration with partners, we contribute to the release of hundreds of these birds annually, helping to bring this iconic species back from the brink.
By supporting Fossil Rim, donors become part of a global movement to preserve biodiversity, ensuring endangered species not only survive—but thrive—for generations to come.
