  • Reduce crime and improve public safety through community partnerships, CrimeWatch programs, and expanded public safety initiatives.
  • Advance the White Rock Hills Recreation Center, scheduled to open in 2029, while ensuring community voices help shape its design and programming.
  • Strengthen the Far East Dallas Public Improvement District (FEDPID) through enhanced public safety, neighborhood improvements, and economic investment.
  • Expand housing and economic opportunities that support strong, stable, mixed-income neighborhoods.

The mission of FRI is to engage and empower a community of advocates to advance a safe, beautiful, prosperous and proud Far East Dallas.

The Ferguson Road Initiative (FRI) serves an economically and ethnically diverse community in Far East Dallas. We are aware of the inequities and structural deficiencies that exist in our society. That is why, for more than 25 years, FRI has worked to foster a community that is just, sustainable, and equitable for all, not just a privileged few, who call this area home. We are proud of the work we do in support of racial diversity, equity, and inclusion and will continue to listen, advocate, engage, and respect the people we serve.
