AUsome Moms

AUsome moms began seven years ago, founded by Kelly Andrus whose son had recently been diagnosed with autism. As she encountered other mothers traveling the same journey, she rallied and began hosting monthly dinners, creating a space for them to lean on one another. After a humble beginning, a handful of women meeting over food and drinks transformed into an ever-growing community of more than 4,900 women, who all have one thing in common: raising a child on the autism spectrum. With the current diagnosis rate of autism being 1:54, AUsome Moms has grown into a staple for a multitude of DFW families. Donations go directly back to AUsome Moms families in the form of special needs swim lessons, therapy grants, communication devices, safety kits, sensory items, and more. Funding enables us to host several FREE events each year, such as respite events for mothers and autism-friendly events for the whole family. Inspired by their own autistic children, our non-profit is run by an all-female, volunteer board that strives to provide for the autism community in meaningful ways. Help us continue to reach families in need of support, education, and resources.
