Mission

The African American Museum collects, preserves and exhibits artistic expressions and historical documents that celebrate a precious African American legacy. The collections of the Museum combined with its related activities will serve to assist all people to understand the African-American Experience with emphasis on Dallas and the Southwestern United States.

Needs

Donations are needed to support the Museum's Educational Programs which include an Award Winning Six Week Summer Camp, the South Dallas Children's Choir, The Sankofa Youth Players and the quarterly Family and Friends Day.
