Open Arms International

A nonprofit organization

Open Arms International facilitates a connection between North Texans and the people of the Eldoret, Kenya area, where extreme poverty has stolen hope. By providing safe homes and education for orphaned children, the generosity of North Texans is changing the destiny of a generation and a country. Through the donation of funds, clothing, shoes, and practical care items, the lives of vulnerable children are being saved. Hundreds of North Texans have experienced the joy of traveling to Kenya to meet the children of Open Arms Village, sharing their time and talents to serve this extremely vulnerable population through medical care, construction projects, community outreach and many other impactful projects.

Our Needs

Open Arms International is currently developing a trauma task force which will provide houseparents, teachers and staff with urgently needed professional training on trauma informed care and healing centered engagement. Your gift to Open Arms International on North Texas Giving Day will provide much needed funds for curriculum, travel and in country expenses for trauma task force leaders and members to deliver training to staff who are ill equipped to deal with such severe trauma.

Mission

The mission of Open Arms International is to empower children and adults to move from hopelessness to HOPE by providing Homes, Outreach, Purpose and Empowerment. This HOPE is influencing a generation of future Kenyan leaders and allowing the full potential of Kenya to be realized through the saved lives of some of it's most vulnerable children.
