$25,000 Goal

We all want to protect our kids from hurting, but sometimes that is just not possible. When a family member is diagnosed with cancer the best thing we can do is be honest with our kids and to teach our children how to cope with all that a cancer diagnosis brings. Each month, for one year, the children in our program receive a package in the mail. Each package deals with a different emotion that is common for children to experience during this difficult time. Everything needed to do the activities is provided. This is a great opportunity for parents to built trust with their children and to help families open the dialogue for difficult conversations related to cancer.

Our Needs

Our current needs are supply drive coordinators, expanding our board of directors and adding committee chairs, as well as monetary donations to be able to bring this program into local hospitals and to hire an additional part time employee to help with administrative work as well as to expand to include a high school program. You can also find a list of items needed by visiting our Amazon Smile Charity List.

Mission

LHOH exists to bring hope and healing to the hearts and minds of children (ages 4-14) who have a parent or sibling with a cancer diagnosis by providing monthly HOPE packages that teach emotional intelligence and creative expression as a coping skill, parental support, and prayer support for the entire family. This program is free to families facing a cancer diagnosis with school aged children in the home.
