Dogs are fostered in private homes spread out across 13 counties of the greater DFW area!
Shelters continue to struggle under staggering numbers with euthanasia being an inevitable outcome for many dogs. Requests to assist with abandoned dogs & owner surrenders are at catastrophic levels.
In 2022 we rescued / rehomed more than 170 dogs & paid more than $135,000 in veterinary expenses.
As of mid August 2023, we have rescued more than 65 dogs & spent more than $100,000 in veterinary expenses.

Good Shepherd Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization that has been in continuous operation since 1999 in the Dallas / Ft Worth area. We focus on rescue, rehabilitation & rehoming German Shepherd Dogs. All dogs in our program are in private foster homes. We provide medical care for gravely ill / injured dogs, spay / neuter, microchip, vaccinate, deworm, heartworm test & heartworm treat if applicable. 25% of our adoptions are with repeat families each year.

. FOSTER: Fosters are THE MOST LIFE SAVING ROLE in rescue. A good way to start is to temporarily "babysit" for an existing foster for a fixed period of time.
. TRANSPORT: We always need transport assistance from shelters, to/from vet appointments or move between foster homes.
