Concert Bells of Fort Worth is an auditioned community handbell ensemble privileged to share unique repertoire across DFW and beyond, both to seek new audiences and share the joy of ringing handbells. Community education and enrichment through handbell musicianship is the focus of our biyearly concert seasons. We are active in the national guild organization Handbell Musicians of America and boast ringers who are well-known clinicians, ringers, and composers within the handbell community!
Concert Bells of Fort Worth was "born" in the fall of 1998 when Karen Thompson gathered a small group of like-minded musicians to establish a new handbell ensemble. This fall Concert Bells of Fort Worth celebrates 25 years! One of the ways we will celebrate is by performing two World Premieres – Prelude and Fugue on Noël Nouvelet by Fred Gramann, in December and The Girl I Left Behind by Leroy Anderson, arranged for handbells by charter member Carol Lynn Mizell, in the spring.
Over the past few years we have requested help in purchasing new equipment--aluminum bass bells, Silver Melody Bells, the lower 7th octave of chimes... This year our primary need is operational support--purchasing music, maintenance of our bells and chimes, insurance premiums, printing programs and marketing expenses. Will you help us celebrate our 25th season by contributing $25 (or more) this North Texas Giving Day? Your support will help us continue bringing artistic handbell performances to North Texas and beyond.
Here are a few of our accomplishments and highlights from the past 25 years:
