CityLab High School Foundation

A nonprofit organization

CityLab High School Foundation supports CityLab High School, a Dallas ISD Transformation Choice School that uses project based learning to integrate rigorous STEM curriculum with studies in Architecture, Urban Planning and Environmental Science that inspires and ignites the passion in our students through helping them understand how the built world shapes how we interact with each other. Through the Foundation's leadership and support, we have been able to amplify the impact of public dollars through enhancements to the school's academic and extracurricular activities, professional development, facility improvements and technology.

CityLab High School creates a culture for students to become engaged and informed citizens and part of the community. Located downtown, CityLab High School students use the city as a real-world laboratory as they explore the built and natural environment, further deepening their understanding of their projects and curriculum. CityLab accepts all students regardless of academic ability. As a Choice School, the student population is evenly split evenly between low and middle-high income students. Students are exposed to community experts, mentors and real world projects which expands their knowledge of career paths and opportunities, and levels the playing field.

Our Needs

Through your partnership and support, we can continue providing our students with these exceptional opportunities and ensure that they have access to the necessary programs and tools that will foster their passion, resulting in a lasting and positive impact on our community. We need your help to continue to fund opportunities such as:

• Participation in local and national student programs such as Urban Plan (Urban Land Institute), TXA (Texas Society of Architects) Student Competition and TX APA (American Planning Association) Conference.
• Classroom grants for special programs/projects within CityLab's pathways (architecture, unban planning, environmental science).
• Scholarships toward university programs.
• Professional development for faculty enabling them to stay on the cutting edge of professional trends.

Mission

The CityLab Foundation advocates for and supports the mission of CityLab High School by fostering community involvement and securing funding support.

Over the past four years, CityLab has evolved into an innovative Dallas ISD Choice high school that prepares students to become the next generation of professionals and civic leaders. Using downtown Dallas as their extended classroom, students not only learn from the city around them, they help transform it.
