We seek to provide opportunities to serve for all ages and ability levels either by organizing our own projects or combining efforts with other helping organizations. Our break our work into two categories: home repair/yard work and general projects.
With general projects, we lead over 20 agency support, collection/donation, packaging, and other miscellaneous projects such as roadside cleanup, food collection for All Community Outreach's summer food program, care packages for military personnel, and sorting, cleaning, and other service projects with local helping organizations. By organizing these projects, we provide an opportunity for neighbors to work side by side, accomplishing the work at hand, but creating an opening for open, honest conversation and mutual respect.
On the home repair/yard work side, we partner with low-to-moderate income homeowners to help them maintain their homes and property so that their home continues to be safe, secure, and a source of wealth-building rather than liability. Many homes in our community are aging and are at risk of falling into blight since their owners lack financial resources, practical skills, and/or physical ability to complete needed repairs. Our teams come alongside the homeowner to offer care, resources, and able bodies to address the presenting need as well as any underlying factors which may have contributed.

Mission
Change the World Allen exists to inspire, equip, and mobilize members of the Allen-Fairview-Lucas community to serve our neighbors and change the world in positive ways. We mobilize volunteers and increase civic engagement to build a stronger and more resilient community, where neighbors know and respect one another deeply. Toward that end, we have identified four core values to guide our work:
