Our Needs

The Theatre Guild supports all +270 of the Theatre students, 7 Full Time Theatre faculty and numerous consultants. Join us in supporting these talented and dynamic artist-students and our devoted faculty.

Mission

The Theatre Guild's mission is to support the students and faculty of Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts Theatre Conservatory and to help provide the best possible academic and artistic experience as these artist-students strive to fulfill their goals and aspirations.

Needs

In 2021, Guinea Bennett Price took the reigns of the Theatre Conservatory and has already placed her indelible mark on the conservatory. The Theatre Conservatory is expanding the program with new vision and purpose while still steeped in the traditions established by Paul Baker who created the integrated arts program. This new vision includes more robust film and musical theatre programming, and expanded and innovative technical theatre. The Theatre Guild needs financial partners to support these new programs, assist in recognizing the vision of our Conservatory Director and Faculty, and to bridge the gap between the actual costs and the DISD allocated resources. 100% of your contribution goes to directly support the Theatre Conservatory programs, faculty and students.

Equity Statement

The Booker T. Washington HSPVA Theatre Guild is committed to supporting all of the faculty and students of the Theatre Conservatory. We recognize students come to Booker T. from disparate and diverse backgrounds and opportunities. We are committed to supporting the Theatre Conservatory to "level the playing field" to allow each student the opportunity to recognize his/her/their maximum potential.
