Our Needs

Financial support allows us to continue our monthly clinics at the homeless shelters and facilities that have requested this service of free eye examinations and prescription glasses for their clients and unsheltered neighbors. Since COVID-19, the need for vision care in low-income communities that may or may not have adequate health insurance is significant.  With appropriate annual funding, we are able to serve thousands of individuals with eye examinations and prescription glasses (frame & lenses).

Mission

Our goal is to provide affordable vision care and prescription glasses, while we also train students as upcoming optical professionals.

Better Vision Better Hope is a non-for profit, committed to providing vision and educational benefits for people from underserved communities throughout Texas.

As a core mission, a division of the organization includes a work-force preparedness program that educates and empowers young adults in the profession of becoming an Optician, creating a sustainable career path.

Needs

Funds allow us to continue providing access to eyecare and prescription glasses to the underserved communities.

A percentage of the funds will support operating budget with onboarding additional staff.

Capitol funding supports "IRIS". (A new mobile bus equipped with exam room, optical space and lab equipment for cutting glasses on-site.) The purchase of "IRIS will replace "PopEye", our current bus that is 21 years old.

Equity Statement

We are all one. We embrace diversity and equality in a serious way. We are committed to creating an environment that renders quality eye care with humility in serving any and all people.
