The Warrior Mama Project is a nonprofit organization created after my son was diagnosed with stage IV cancer at the age of 6. He endured 16 months of chemo and radiation. I endured the trauma of watching him suffer repeatedly.

There was something special that happened when I began to meet other oncology mamas. There was instant magic that made our journey less isolating and lonely. I was gifted food, coffee, hugs, and a much needed sense of connection. Childhood cancer changed me forever.

The Warrior Mama Project was dreamed up in 2019 when I had to drive my son to be sedated for his proton radiation daily for 6 straight weeks. In 2021 we began the steps of making this dream a reality after my son’s port was removed. In September 2021 (childhood cancer awareness month) we received our 501(c)3. On my son’s 9th birthday 11/6/21, we sent out the first care package! Since then we have sent 842 care packages out!

The care package consists of much needed items that emotionally helped me during those long hospital days as well as practical necessities every childhood cancer mom needs. Most importantly, it is a virtual hug from me, another childhood cancer mom who knows the exact feelings she too is feeling. We also offer a care package for bereaved mamas and mamas whose children have completed treatment.

When you partner with us, you are helping childhood cancer moms feel seen, known, and loved. 💛
