Turtle Creek Chorale (TCC) was founded in 1980 when 30 men gathered to rehearse for a concert at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas. Forty-one years later, the group has grown to more than 250 singing members who contribute over 100,000 hours annually to rehearsals, performances, and outreach.

The impact of Turtle Creek Chorale is felt in Dallas and around the world. As the most recorded male chorus in the world, the Chorale boasts 38 CDs and two feature-length documentaries, winning an Emmy Award for one. Significant milestones include: four American Choral Directors Association conventions; a collaboration with Susan G. Komen Foundation to create Sing for the Cure; two performances with the U.S. Army Chorus; a 1995 European tour; and a four-city "Friendship Tour" through Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
The Chorale has been honored to perform before many dignitaries, including Texas governors, city mayors, and Queen Elizabeth II. The Chorale has performed with artists such as Dr. Maya Angelou, Liza Minnelli, Joan Rivers, Betty Buckley, Michael Feinstein, Nikki Blonski, Gavin Creel, and Idina Menzel.

Turtle Creek Chorale has received other numerous awards including the Crystal Hope Award, Peace Center Award, Alan Ross Freedom Parade President's Trophy, the 500, Inc. Ken Bryant Visionary Award, "Best Musical Performance" from the Dallas Observer, and "Best Local Arts Group" by the Dallas Voice five times.

As a prominent member of the Dallas arts community, TCC is proud to collaborate with other community-based organizations, most notably: LifeWalk, Genesis Women's Shelter, Children's Medical Center, Hope's Door, Parkland Hospital, Jonathan's Place, Resource Center, Cathedral of Hope, DFW Federal Club, Bruce Wood Dance, and Susan G. As a predominantly gay men's chorus, the Chorale's unparalleled artistic quality touches a broad audience bridging age, gender, ethnic, socioeconomic, and sexual orientation lines, and emphasizing the importance of intersectionality in all aspects of operation.
