$50,000 Goal

We provide people a pathway to healing for those we serve when they cannot see the road forward. We help them pack their bag when they do not know what to take on the journey.

What do you take on a trip? What is it that you can't imagine being without? We often put a great deal of planning and preparation into even a short weekend trip, much less a week or two. We all know how frustrating it can be when things do not go as planned.

What if you were dropped off alone in the middle of an unfamiliar road without any of your belongings or any way to communicate? It would seem like an insurmountable task to find your way? Where do I even start?

Our clients have experienced some of the worst life has to offer. They or a family member have been a victim of a crime and do not have the resources for support services. When they find us, they frequently cannot envision a productive, happy life ahead for them.

We come along to offer a ride, help them pack their bag with what they will need for the hard road ahead, and then we walk beside them as they learn to walk confidently again.

Our counseling and support services teach resilience when people cannot imagine what the rest of their life will be like. We ask you to partner with us in paving that way forward...

Our History

Trauma Support Services of North Texas (TSSNT) was established in 2007 to provide professional trauma therapy to survivors who did not have the ability to pay.

Since 2007, we have provided professional trauma-informed therapy to victims of crime and other traumatized children and adults. Types of trauma that TSSNT clients have experienced include homicide, assault, mass violence, robbery, abuse, car crashes, human trafficking, and identity theft.

Our therapists have provided over 23,000 hours of trauma-informed therapy to over 4,000 clients. We serve approximately 850 clients a year on average. This can be through therapy services, case management services or crisis intervention. All free of charge.

Without access to mental health services, experiencing trauma can lend itself to a myriad of outcomes associated with a high level of social, occupational and physical disabilities, including suicide. TSSNT meets this need by providing free trauma-informed therapy to those who are not able to otherwise afford it, and by continuing to educate the community about mental health needs by providing state-of-the-art trauma-informed trainings to professionals to better serve the community.

We remain committed to our mission to provide personalized, compassionate care to those affected by trauma. We continue to go beyond short-term crisis intervention and referral services to address the long-term therapeutic needs of our clients. As we see an increase in population growth and the rise of those unable to afford health insurance, including mental health coverage, the need for our services continues to grow.

Our Needs

Trauma Support Services is always in need of funding to provide one-on-one trauma-informed counseling, group therapy and case management services to those affected by crime and other forms of trauma.

TSSNT is currently in need of funding to expand it's training services to a growing number of professionals wanting to be more trauma-informed in their work. We also need funding to underwrite the daily operations and administrative costs necessary to support our direct services programs.

We are incredibly grateful for your generosity of spirit that allows us to continue this mission everyday.
