$2,300 Goal

TLT-Tomorrows Leaders Today (TLT) was founded in 2019. Based on current 2023 data provided by zipdatamaps and the free and reduced lunch program Texas data, we served 789 individuals, 455 from the lowest income areas, deemed the poorest in the DFW, Austin and Houston areas, in one of our online, in-person and/or remote programs. This results in 57.67% of our participants coming from low-income communities.

TLT Online Learning Library was created to provide free online courses and has reached 104 zip codes as of March 2023, providing real-life skills, soft-skills, financial literacy, higher education and career readiness videos, presentations and surveys.

The TLT Leading Leaders Intern Program was established in 2020.  We are working with 40 colleges/universities, and numerous high schools that have allowed TLT to advertise our 20 internship positions through their career tool Handshake. We have served 231 interns as of July 2023. This experience is earning participants real life work experience and, in many cases, educational academic course credit. Current positions include: Accounting/Business Services, Campus Liaison, Cyber Security, Data Research, Development, Digital Marketing, GIS Basics, Graphic Design, Grant Writing, Human Resource, Impact Management, Instructional Design/E-Learning, Marketing, Operations: Policies & Procedures, Program Coordination, Project Management, Social Media, Social Entrepreneur Project, Website Development, and Video Production. These are all remote positions which makes this opportunity accessible to all across Texas. We continue to add additional positions. Donations will help to provide facilitators who conduct one-on-one sessions and project reviews, and appropriate position specific software for each position and participant that we serve.

TLT's Unlocking the Future Program provides basic real-life, soft-skills, financial literacy, leadership, higher education, and career readiness sessions, at no cost, to underserved youth, eighth grade and older in their Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Parker County communities. Through group discussions, hands on exercises, speakers, and presentations about the civic, corporate, charitable, and educational opportunities right in their community we provide tools to become self-sufficient, community members. The classes each complete a community project. Donations are used to provide in-person class materials for each participant that we serve.

Small Business Entrepreneur 101 webinars and workshops.  Youth (14-17) and Adults (18 and older) interested in starting a small business learn what steps are involved with taking their dream to the next level. Donations are used to provide in-person workshop class materials.

TLT Youth Leadership Academy is a four-week program presented by TLT- Tomorrow’s Leaders Today to any interested 14-18 years or, who live in Collin, Dallas, Denton or Tarrant County, held three times a year.  We bring the program to the youth. This educational program experience explores personal communication and leadership dynamics, community social service organizations, their community’s history and growth, higher education and career opportunities, resume creating/review, financial literacy, community safety & local government. Participants work with their class using their leadership skills to complete a class project that will benefit their community. Community focused sessions are 3 hours long, once a week ending with a certificate of graduation. Donations are used to provide in-person class materials for each participant that we serve.

We are Platinum Seal GuideStar Transparency approved and could not have done this without our community partners and volunteers.  In 2022, our volunteers, Board of Directors, and interns collectively contributed over 10,823 hours (valued at $324,149) to fulfill essential roles for TLT- Tomorrow’s Leaders Today. According to the Do-Good Institute, each volunteer hour is valued at $29.95.

Mission

Mission Statement TLT- Tomorrows Leaders Today, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing youth leaders through education, collaboration and mentorships with community & business leaders for the collective benefit of the students and their communities.

Needs

Our most critical need and hope, currently, is funding to provide each intern with access to the appropriate software for their remote position, a small stipend for their internship rotation and to raise additional funds so participants can continue to receive our in-person programs at no cost. We continue to reach additional junior high school and older students that need our programs, throughout these counties: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Grayson, and Tarrant.

TLT needs YOUR help. We are working to bring the program into each community, especially where foster care centers, youth aging out of adoption/foster care, homeless shelters and those individuals who are impoverished and otherwise economically underserved reside.

As of May 2022, there were 1437 children reported to be in foster care by Texas DFPS, in Collin County 123, Denton County 289, Grayson County 92, and Tarrant County 933. Many others are homeless, aging out of adoption, and living below poverty. We have not stopped investing in these students, any way we can through online technology and limited in-person sessions during this unprecedented time. By helping TLT, you are investing in the young adults and the community.

We desire to work with Community Reinvestment programs, other non-profits and welcome community partnerships.

As of July 2023, our 5th fiscal year, we have one paid staff member. Our programs are growing and staffing is becoming a necessity. Your generous donations will help these programs continue for many more years.

We are honored to be a part of the 2023 North Texas Giving Day. Our organization serves students with the help of facilitators, mentors, and community partners. For other ways to help, please visit https://www.tltleaders.org/donations/other-ways-to-help
