Our highly successful and innovative model is creating opportunity and community through classical music. Open Classical runs over 100 classical music events yearly in the DFW Metroplex. Our high quality Artist Series chamber music concerts are Name-Your-Own-Price, allowing everyone to attend. Our unique model is open to all classical musicians to create high quality projects and have the forum to present them, both locally and touring to other cities as well. Our well-known classical open mic events are gathering places for classical music lovers and free for all to attend, and we provide a paid professional pianist who can perform with all levels on the spot. In addition, we create and produce classical music comedy stage shows and operettas. During Covid-19, we are one of the few classical music organizations of our budget size to run successful online events through our weekly At Home Showcase.
Our Needs
The generosity of our donors make our events possible. We are making a difference in the cultural life of North Texas, and the more funds we have to produce great events, the more wonderful things we can do together.
Mission
Open Classical's mission is to develop and implement valuable solutions for the opportunity gaps in the current industry structure of classical music, to empower classical musicians of all levels (professional, amateur, and student) with opportunities to create musical art to the best of their abilities and to develop their craft, to educate the public on classical music, its history and value, and to facilitate audience engagement with classical music at all levels.
