$5,000 Goal

The Mammogram Poster Girls (MPG) focus on providing mammograms and breast cancer diagnostics to women in the southern sector of Dallas--where the need is great. The southern sector has the largest population of women of color in Dallas county.* Women of color in the southern area of Dallas County are 1.4 times more likely to receive a late-state diagnosis, and 1.2 times more likely to die of breast cancer than in the rest of Dallas county.* Early detection is key to a better outcome--mammograms save lives. MPG has provided over 650 mammograms and diagnostic procedures, free of charge, to women in southern Dallas county. Saving lives...one mammogram at a time.

Our Needs

Mammogram Poster Girls needs donations to help support our ongoing Two-Fer Tuesday program; get a mammogram, get a meal. The Two-Fer Tuesday was created in 2020 (during the pandemic) to help support our struggling service economy, while also providing life-saving screening mammograms. Two-fer Tuesday is a partnership created by the Mammogram Poster Girls with Methodist Health System, and locally-owned MWOB restaurants. Two-Fer Tuesdays are held the first Tuesday of each month. Each Two-Fer Tuesday MPG provides a mammogram, free of charge for under/uninsured patients. MPG also provides a meal/restaurant gift card (purchased from a locally-owned MWOB restaurant) for each patient served on the Methodist Mobile Mammography Unit. The Two-Fer Tuesday events have been fully booked from day one, and very well-received. MPG is seeking funding to continue this program through 2022.

Areas served; Oak Cliff, Southern Dallas, Cedar Hill, Oak Cliff, Duncanville, DeSoto, and Lancaster.

Equity Statement

The Mammogram Poster Girls condemn racism in all forms and the structural inequities that affect communities of color. Our focus from the beginning has been to provide mammograms for those unable to afford them-focusing on the Southern sector of Dallas, where the need is greatest.

Like many of you, we are listening and learning. We want to make an impact and become better equipped to adequately address the issues at hand. We believe that where you live should not determine if you live. Healthcare is one pillar in achieving social justice and we are more motivated than ever to erase the structural racism that not only impedes the pathway to living in an equitable society but also fuels the health disparities we see today. Until this vision becomes a reality, we want you to know that we are here, and we are with you.

The Mammogram Poster Girls believe that where you live should not determine if you live.
