About Us

The Lambda Upsilon Sigma Alumnae (Plano, TX) Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was established in 2013 to serve Collin County located in the suburban communities north of Dallas. Since its chartering, Lambda Upsilon Sigma has worked tirelessly to impact its service area through implementation of the Sorority's national programs and spearheading local initiatives to address additional issues that specifically impact Collin & Denton counties. The Chapter has contributed more than 10,000 hours of service, awarded nearly $40,000 in scholarships, and bestowed more than $44,000 in monetary and in-kind donations to local charities since the chapter's inception.

Lambda Upsilon Sigma has been recognized at a local, regional, and national level for its efforts in exemplifying the Sorority's slogan, "Greater Service, Greater Progress", garnering awards and recognition internally and externally.

Mission

The Lambda Upsilon Sigma Charitable & Educational Foundation (LUSCEF) serves as the charitable arm of the Lambda Upsilon Sigma Chapter (Plano, TX) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Established in 2017, LUSCEF is a 501(c)(3) organization and is the primary funder of Lambda Upsilon Sigma's service programs which focus on youth empowerment, health and wellness, and educational enrichment. Our goal is building the foundation for the next generation through introducing community service, through Liberating thought, Unified sisterhood and Synergy." LUSCEF also provides scholarships to deserving and exemplary college-bound high school seniors and continuing college students in North Texas.

Needs

LUSCEF's goal is to provide over $15,000 in scholarships and service programs to help serve in Colin County.
