About 88.9 KETR
Since 1975, listener-supported 88.9 KETR has connected Northeast Texas with news, information, music, ideas and the stories of the communities we call home.
Now in our 51st year, KETR remains committed to something increasingly rare: locally rooted, nonprofit public radio created for and accountable to the people it serves.
From our studios at East Texas A&M University in Commerce, KETR provides public-service journalism and trusted national and statewide programming alongside coverage you simply won't find anywhere else. We report on the cities, schools, people and issues of Northeast Texas. We bring listeners Texas music through Notably Texan, conversations and regional storytelling through The Lede, local high school sports, East Texas A&M athletics, and programs from NPR, the BBC, Texas Standard and other public-media partners.
KETR broadcasts at 88.9 FM from a 100,000-watt facility serving communities across Northeast Texas and beyond. Our programming is also available worldwide at KETR.org and through digital streaming.
Why your support matters now
The financial landscape for public media changed dramatically in 2025, when Congress eliminated federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. For KETR, that means entering our 51st year without a source of federal support that helped sustain public radio in communities like ours for decades.
KETR is still here. We're still broadcasting around the clock. We're still reporting from Northeast Texas. We're still introducing listeners to Texas musicians, covering Friday-night football, providing severe-weather and emergency information, and connecting this region to journalism and programming from across Texas, the nation and the world.
But doing that work requires a stronger foundation of support here at home.

Yes. Contributions made through North Texas Giving Day are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
How will I receive my tax receipt?
When you give through North Texas Giving Day, your receipt will come from Communities Foundation of Texas. After your donation is processed, you should receive an on-screen acknowledgment and an email receipt. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam or junk folder.
