The purpose of this request is to help support the innovative programming of The Hispanic Women's Network of Texas (HWNT) Dallas Chapter's Latinas in Progress(c) Education Seminar Series (LIP), which is designed to engage and encourage high-school-aged Latinas, a traditionally underrepresented minority in higher education, explore opportunities in higher education. This is achieved through hands-on learning experiences that provide information on access, financial resources, and exposure to university life. Proceeds raised on North Texas Giving Day 2022 will be used for scholarships.
Our mission is to seek the advancement of women in corporate, public and civic life. HWNT seeks to advance the educational, cultural, social, legal, and economic well-being of all women through a broader awareness of their role in society, business, and family.
$25: Provides graduation sashes and honor cords
$50: Funds transportation to the university visits
$100: Provides LIP programming supplies for one student
$200: Funds the orientation fee for one student
$500: Provides motivational books for all seniors (Friend of LIP sponsor)
$750: Funds the graduation ceremony venue (Friend of LIP sponsor)
$1,500: Funds one scholarship for a high school junior student (Sponsor of individual scholarship and name will be featured on the scholarship)
$3,000: Funds one scholarship for a high school student (Sponsor of individual scholarship and name will be featured on the scholarship)
Reaching our goal will support our purpose of providing six $3,000 scholarships to high school seniors. And two high school junior scholarships.
