Girls Inc. of Tarrant County was founded in 1976 as the Arlington Girls Club by local leaders who saw the need for comprehensive services for girls in the community. From its beginning as Arlington Girls Club, Girls Inc. of Tarrant County has grown from serving 8 girls in the basement of a church in East Arlington to serving over 15,000 girls annually at schools and community locations across Tarrant County. Through evidence-based programming focused on STEM exposure, healthy relationship building, college and career preparation, and more, Girls Inc.'s trained staff builds a lasting connection with youth to empower them to navigate the barriers they face as girls. By partnering with local schools, community centers, and companies, Girls Inc. creates a system of support for girls from kindergarten to young adulthood.
Our team has been working hard to address the immediate needs for our girls and their families and supporting the social and emotional needs of Girls Inc. girls while continuing to provide Girls Inc. enrichment programs online and in-person including STEM, stress management, communication skills, and college prep. Girls Inc. of Tarrant County programs put a significant focus to address the mental health needs of youth and help them achieve their full potential. Girls Inc. is a sisterhood where girls have a system of support that will inspire them to follow their dreams. Your contributions will ensure our team has the resources necessary to deliver programming as we coordinate with community partners and officials to ensure we support our Girls Inc. girls to grow up to be healthy, educated, and economically independent!
