Imagine what it is like to be a single parent who is struggling to make ends meet, and you get sick and can't afford a doctor. On top of all that you have no one to turn to to watch your kids while you try and go to the doctor. You have been trying so hard but you just can't pay your bills and you need help to find a better job. Maybe you need help with writing a resume and interview skills to get that job that will allow you to take care of your family. Wouldn’t it be great if there was one place, under one roof, that could help with these needs, to give hope to the families we serve? With your support, 5 Loaves is building the Beacon of Hope Center, a 10,000+ sq ft. facility where nonprofits will join together to provide wrap-around services with counseling, healthcare, a youth center with mentorship programs, child care, resource center that provides classes that help provide families with direction. Our goal is to raise $100,000 toward building the Beacon of Hope Center
Thanks to some very passionate donors, your donations, up to $50,000, will be matched, dollar for dollar!The Beacon of Hope Center is a 10,000+ sq. ft. facility. Bringing together local nonprofits to provide wrap-around services for those desiring to better their lives. Counseling, healthcare, a youth center with mentorship programs, child care, and a resource center with classes that help provide families with what they need to succeed. Of course, we will still provide food, diapers, and our clothing closet.
All while giving them HOPE and guiding them to a better life.
5 Loaves Food Pantry needs your support! As a 501(c)3 registered nonprofit, 5 Loaves provides more than 775,000 lbs. of food per year to those in need. In addition to nonperishable food, meat, dairy, vegetables, and other food necessities, 5 Loaves also provides clothing, hot meals to seniors, diapers and wipes for kids, and even pet food so our clients aren’t sacrificing their own health for the care of their beloved cats and dogs.
We serve the communities of Sachse, Wylie, Murphy, Garland, Lavon, St. Paul, Rowlett, and surrounding areas.
5 Loaves Ministry is a faith-based mission that was started out of a passion to serve those in the community with essential needs.
"Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
Begun in 2015, 5 Loaves received its registered 501(c)3 designation in 2017. Over time it has grown in service as well as respect in the community. In addition to the Food Pantry, programs also include:
Beacon of Hope – We come alongside people, and families that are struggling, be it homelessness, mentally, physically, or emotionally, and help them take the next step with co, job search, and many other ways to give them a hand up to succeed in life, and not a handout—helping guide them to a better life.
Diaper Bank -- As a diaper bank, we provide diapers, wipes, and formula to struggling families in need.
Transitions to Life - We partner with local schools to provide a place and a way for special needs students to learn new skills and equip them to become independent.
International Missions -- Sponsor a 5 Loaves Food Pantry in Mogote, Honduras
Coffee with a Purpose - A purchase of 1 lb of our gourmet coffee provides 28 lbs of food to a needy family. Dark or Medium Roast available for only $10.00.
We are coming to you with a very large request for assistance.
Our Beacon of Hope ministry is about walking alongside our neighbors to meet them at their needs. There is no "one size fits all" answer. We have learned that while many resources may exist, location of those resources can be a detriment to our clients actually being able to utilize them. Kids take a parent's priorities, so they may neglect their own care. Daycares are expensive, so parents may not be able to afford to attend programs that could help increase their education, and thus their income.
By building a Center, where multiple nonprofits come together under one roof, we can eliminate the hurdles and better assist our clients.

Our board is made up of individuals that have the same passion for serving our clients. THAT is our number one priority in board (and staff) selection.
Since our programs are not specific to any of the EDI descriptors, we do not use them to measure our clients, nor those that help and support us.
