 What Our Clients Are Saying

There is stress, but to be able to set a positive example for my 3 children makes it all worthwhile. They saw dad had a goal and I achieved my goal.  I showed my children I could walk proudly down the aisle to receive my diploma for their future.  I was not afraid to work hard to accomplish my goal and I was determined to be successful."

-Hector, GED Graduate

"We are in survival mode with our food situation. We are very thankful that Water From The Rock has been a blessing for us to help us a few times a year with food. We are believers in Christ and we know that Christ and His people help. We pray that one day we will be able to give back to society ourselves. We are very grateful for the help from Water From The Rock."  - Mr. and Mrs. Brittain

"Hi I’m Val.  I’m from the Arlington Life Shelter and I came to Water From The Rock to get clothes for my job interview. Water From The Rock dressed me for success and made me feel like I already got the job. I’m so grateful!  All praises to the most high, I’m ready."

"I needed clothes for my new job at the University of Texas in Arlington, and Water From The Rock gave me three outfits to wear until I received my first paycheck.  Head to toe, I have my earrings, dress, necklace, and fabulous shoes to get me started.  A big thank you to all of you who made it happen."

Mission

The mission of Water From The Rock is to empower low to moderate income individuals to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy through an array of services - High School Equivalency/GED preparation, English as a Second Language classes, computer literacy classes, food assistance, and clothing for job interviews, work and emergencies - aimed at helping them achieve self-sufficiency.

Needs

There is a need for financial donations to help us stock our food pantry. We always need tax deductible financial donations to help students pay for the practice High School Equivalency/GED exam and the actual High School Equivalency/GED examination. An additional commercial refrigerator and commercial freezer for the food pantry would help us increase our capacity to receive more food donations. Tax deductible donations would help us purchase books and supplies for our literacy classes.
