Mike and Kathy St. Philip's NTXGD Campaign

Dr. Terry Flowers, St. Philip’s Headmaster, often talks about our WID WID, our Why I Do What I Do. My WID WID was formed years ago when my son, Elijah, was a student at St. Philip’s.

I watched him receive an excellent education, become grounded in history and culture, and grow within a community where high expectations were paired with love and support. And Mike and I were invited into that experience. We learned that being a St. Philip’s family meant becoming part of something bigger than our own child. We learned how to be the village for Elijah and for all of our children.

That experience changed me. I do what I do because St. Philip’s has given so much to me, to hundreds of families, and to the South Dallas community. St. Philip’s helped teach me what it means to show up, to invest, and to believe in the promise of every child. That is my WID WID, and it is why I am so proud to give back to a place that has given so much to me.
