Enabling Movement Foundation is a 501 c (3) organization established to help support the health and wellbeing of the disabled population by providing community programs with specialized equipment to enable safe movement. These programs support all ages and diagnoses. The specialized adaptive equipment assist the disabled individual’s movement, thereby offering some of the same opportunities as ablebodied individuals have for exercise, movement and recreation.

In 2024, we had 68 adaptive cycling rides; 50 were regular season rides, 3 were special events – national and local rallies, and 15 were from United Methodist Church event. We served all ages and levels of disabilities; our riders were as young as 3.5 years old to 69 years old in 2024, with mildly impaired disabilities to severely impaired. Diagnoses included autism, cerebral palsy, sci, stroke etc. All riders enjoyed rides – most were repeat riders.

Cruising Cyclers Adaptive Outdoor cycling program allows the disabled, any age of level of disability, to experience the joy of cycling on the outdoor trails at the same speed as ablebodied individuals by utilizing our specialized adaptive equipment. This program provides equal movement opportunities to all with our specialized equipment. Movement is so important to our overall health and wellness.

The Movemore March Adaptive Gym Pilot program is a mini-version of the adaptive gym we hope to build in the future. We have partnered with Special Abilities of North Texas and are offering an adaptive gym with specialized equipment for the disabled to utilize. This specialized equipment, in lieu of muscle strength,   gives the disabled the ability to maximize their movement potential.  Movement is so important to overall health and wellness.
