In late 2024, I started volunteering with Hearts for Homes helping to provide a new mobile home for one of our disabled seniors! We packed up her home and moved her into a brand-new mobile home shortly before Christmas allowing her to the holiday in a safe and clean environment. She was able to spend her last year of life in a comfortable and safe home.
I then began volunteering in the office in 2025 officially joining the staff in June 2025. Since then, I have come to know and love our seniors. I have seen countless seniors helped. Projects range from simple things such as changing light bulbs or smoke detector batteries to repairing air conditioner/heater units. These seniors are unable to either do the repair themselves or to pay for the repair. Sometimes, they just need an ‘ear’ to listen to them and pray with them. (That aspect of my job is particularly enjoyable.) I have been very blessed in my life and am so thankful to be able to serve our seniors through Hearts for Homes.
