Royse City American Legion #100

A nonprofit organization

Our organization is comprised of veterans who have made it their mission to not only support veterans but to make the world a better place. We volunteer over 5,000 hours each year to support our community. Our group is comprised of volunteers and none of our members receive a salary. We give back because we care; since our inception in 2017 we have provided over $100,000 in goods and services to support veterans who are struggling financially, provide low income children with backpacks and school supplies, provide scholarships and much much more.
None of our members receive a salary and 100% of all donations will go to our veterans programs.

Our Needs

We are starting a new program to support veterans who are struggling with PTSD. We have a lot of veterans who because of the drive to either Bonham or Dallas have not sought help from the VA. In addition many of them don't want to be over medicated so we have partnered with Higher Hopes Counseling to provide local veterans a local option to receive counseling and alternative PTSD treatment methods instead of medications. It will be done at a reduced cost and the money we raise will go to providing vouchers to the veterans so the treatments will be free for the veterans. In addition we will use the vouchers to also provide counseling for the spouses and children of veterans suffering from PTSD. We hope you will see how important this mission is and choose to support us.
$40 will cover one individual counseling session. $160 will cover one group counseling session, $480 will cover six months of individual counseling sessions

In addition we started a homeless assistance program aimed at getting homeless people off of the street. This program over the last 90 days have gotten 8 people off of the street. But this cost's money and we need your help to fund these programs.

Mission

The mission of the Laramore-Osborne American Legion Post is to provide assistance through our programs to veterans, children and our community. We support veterans through job assistance, financial assistance and partnerships that provide support for veterans suffering from PTSD. We support children through scholarships and leadership programs like Boy's and Girl's State. We also give back to the community by conducting food drives for local food pantries and the adopt a highway program.
