HELPING WOUNDED WARRIORS

BUILD STRONGER FUTURES

Many combat-wounded veterans struggle to transition back to civilian life. Every day feels like an uphill battle for them and their families.

The Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation is committed to helping these Texas veterans. Our nonprofit wounded warrior organization provides financial assistance for essential needs while also offering therapeutic programs such as golf events and retreats.

Our goal is to help veterans heal, connect with their family and community, and rebuild their lives.

We’re proud and humbled to be just everyday Texans working for extraordinary heroes who bravely defended our nation’s freedom.

★ OUR HISTORY ★

Founded in 2007, the Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation is committed to providing essential support and resources to wounded warriors and their families throughout Texas.

The foundation’s journey began when retired Senior PGA Tour professional Dick Goetz met Ron Nash, a retired Navy Lt. Commander, at a golf tournament in Dallas. Inspired by his experiences working with seriously injured veterans at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, Goetz envisioned an opportunity to uplift wounded warriors through the sport of golf. This conversation sparked the creation of the Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation.

In 2008, the foundation hosted its inaugural event: a one-day Pro-Am golf tournament that welcomed seven wounded warriors from Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. The following year, participation grew to 17 warriors, along with an evening celebration.

Over the past 20 years, the foundation has evolved from a single one-day event into multiple one-day events, as well as several three-day weekend retreats, accommodating 20 to 40 veterans each year in cities such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Tyler, Marble Falls, Austin, and Amarillo, Texas. We host two family-oriented spiritual retreats and an annual golf school in San Antonio and Dallas. Additionally, we have recently started an annual Warrior/Child event for our warriors and their families.

Medical professionals and military leaders emphasize that these type of experiences help warriors temporarily escape their hardships, fostering the determination needed for rehabilitation. The Texas Wounded Warrior Foundation focuses on timely assistance for those who need it most.
