Shining Stars ISS was created to serve adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in North Texas who are too often left without meaningful daytime support options. Across our region, many programs are limited in hours, capacity, or are designed primarily for higher-functioning individuals—leaving families with few choices and long waitlists.
We believe ability level should never determine access to opportunity.
Our program provides a structured, supportive, and engaging environment where participants can build essential life skills, strengthen independence, and experience genuine inclusion in their community. Through hands-on learning, social activities, and community outings, individuals are supported at their own pace in areas such as personal care, communication, money skills, cooking, and daily living routines.

Mission
Our mission is to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling and independent lives through meaningful skill-building, creative expression, and community engagement. We provide a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can grow, connect and contribute through life skills training, volunteer opportunities, and the arts.
Needs
Shining Stars is building a structured, person-centered environment designed to promote independence, social engagement, and community participation. Program needs include transportation for community integration, adaptive learning environments for life skills training, and therapeutic engagement materials that support continued growth in communication, daily living, and social development.
