Culture Makers: Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow
Young people today stand at a crossroads. The path forward is filled with uncertainty about identity, capability, and how to step confidently into roles that will define their generation. Too many talented students drift without direction, their leadership potential untapped simply because no one reached them at the right moment with the right tools.
Culture Makers exist to change that.
Founded on the belief that leadership is not a trait you're born with but a muscle you develop, Culture Makers is a nonprofit mentoring organization working where it matters most inside public schools. Embedded across eight campuses in Garland and Fort Worth, Texas, the organization reaches approximately 280+ students each year. Partner schools include the Garland Alternative Education Center, South Garland High School, Garland High School, Brandenburg Middle School, Bussey Middle School, Sellers Middle School, International Leadership of Texas Garland High School, and Young Men's Leadership Academy in Fort Worth.
The mission is ambitious by design. Culture Makers doesn't aim to simply help students graduate or stay out of trouble. It sets sights on something far more transformative: developing young leaders who don't just follow the crowd but shape it.
Inspired by the vision of Culture Making, the organization operates from the conviction that every student has the capacity to walk into any room, any environment, and positively influence the people around them. That influence doesn't happen by accident. It is built through consistent mentorship, deliberate skill-building, and hands-on experiences that connect students to real-world leadership.
The work is relational at its core. Culture Makers meet students inside their own schools, removing barriers to access and building trust within familiar environments. Mentors walk alongside young people not merely as instructors but as models, living proof that the leadership journey is both possible and worth pursuing.
The results ripple outward. Students who discover their leadership voice carry it into their families, their communities, and eventually into careers and civic life becoming people who make culture rather than simply inherit it.
At Culture Makers, the goal is clear: connect with students, equip them with essential leadership tools, and unleash their potential to make a difference. One student, one school, one community at a time.
