Feral Heroes Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Mabank, Texas, serving Henderson, Kaufman, and surrounding North Texas communities. We focus on reducing stray and community cat overpopulation through humane TNR, spay/neuter access, vaccines, microchipping, rescue partnerships, public microchip scanning stations, and transport placement for friendly cats and kittens.

Since 2024, Feral Heroes Rescue has helped coordinate close to 1000 community cat sterilizations and hundreds of lifesaving transports. We work with caretakers, neighborhoods, property owners, clinics, and rescue partners to prevent unwanted litters, reduce suffering, and keep more cats out of shelters.

Mission

Our mission is to reduce the suffering of stray and community cats through prevention, access, and action. Feral Heroes Rescue uses TNR, spay/neuter support, vaccination, microchipping, rescue coordination, and transport placement to create long-term solutions for cats and the communities caring for them.

We believe the most humane way to help community cats is to stop the cycle before it starts. Every cat fixed means fewer kittens born outside, fewer sick and injured animals, and less pressure on overcrowded shelters and rescues.

Needs

Our greatest needs are funding for community cat spay/neuter, medical care, and reliable transportation. Donations help cover surgeries, vaccines, microchips, flea treatment, humane traps, food, litter, and supplies. Feral Heroes Rescue also needs a dependable transport van so we can safely move cats, kittens, traps, carriers, and medical cases to clinics, vet checks, foster homes, and lifesaving transports across North Texas.

Feral Heroes Rescue serves communities where access to affordable spay/neuter, veterinary care, and animal welfare resources is limited. We work with caretakers, neighborhoods, property owners, and rescue partners to provide practical, humane solutions without judgment. By expanding access to TNR, vaccines, microchips, and transport, we help both cats and the people trying to care for them.
