The Denton High School Fillies had an amazing 2025-2026 year which would not have been possible without the love and support from our many community partners. As we begin the 2026-2027 year, we do so with the same energy, passion, and commitment that the DHS Fillies have come to symbolize. Formed in 1968 and the oldest high school drill team in Denton, the Fillies continue to embody enthusiasm, tradition, school spirit, and discipline in all the events that they participate. From leading the parade for local American Idol Finalist Breanna Nix to kicking off the Salvation Army’s Holiday Kettle drive at the Golden Triangle Mall, the Fillies look for those opportunities to give their Denton community. Hopefully, this next year will bring more opportunities to share what it means to be a DHS Fillie as we partner with our community for fun, learning, and dance.
The DHS Fillies Booster Club is reaching out to seek support in helping us provide the Fillies with some essential items over the course of the 2026-2027 season. As a Title 1 Texas school, Denton High often struggles with funding for many of the items that are essential for a drill team's operation during fall football season as well as during the spring dance competition and performance season. The DHS Fillies have prided themselves on offering opportunities for dance, leadership, and teamwork to young DHS ladies from a wide range of backgrounds, dance experience, and skills. Many young Fillies begin their drill team journey with no prior dance experience, and thus we have become the largest drill team in Denton with 55-60 drill team members every year. Consequently, the goal of replacing uniforms, updating costumes, and equipping our team with props and accessories for their field shows and spring performances can be costly. But we are tackling this goal this year with the intent of raising at least $15,000 to put specifically towards updating our traditional Fillies Field Uniform with the purchase of additional uniforms that adhere to our long standing tradition.
The Mission of the DHS Fillies Booster Club is to provide financial, physical, and emotional support to the DHS Fillies Drill Team. We provide a means of communication between students, parents, community, directors, and DHS administration. It is our honor and privilege to assist all areas of team needs including leadership training, performance needs and resources, and scholarships for the young women who call themselves Fillies. Once a Fillie, Always a Fillie.
We are needing to raise approximately $15,000 to help cover the cost of replacing 30 full Fillies Field Uniforms (leotards, skirts, overlays, belts, gauntlets, tights, boots, and hats).
DHS Fillies Booster Club believes that our children deserve equitable and reasonable financial support when serving the needs of their school through fine arts and spirit organizations. The resources we bring are equitably shared in ways that benefit all team members regardless of role within the team. We remove financial barriers to team participation when possible and support both short- and long- term needs of the team. We collaborate and partner with team Directors, DHS Sponsors, and Administration at every point…making our efforts collaborative and supportive.
