$5,000 Goal

In the North Texas community, we face pressing challenges that hinder the holistic development of our youth, leading to academic struggles, below-grade-level literacy, limited coping skills, and a lack of exposure to critical STEM education. Moreover, we recognize the vital importance of faith-building for building resilience and hope among young individuals. As such, we are committed to continuing the New Horizons of North Texas after-school program to address these pressing needs and empower the next generation of well-rounded, compassionate, and confident leaders.

New Horizons of North Texas has a focused population of at-risk children and youth in the North Texas area. Our students are between the grade levels of kindergarten and eighth grade, and the ages of five years and 13 years old. Several factors comprise the label of “at-risk” for the children and youth in the NHNTX program, including, but not limited to family income level (most are at free or reduced economic level for the school lunch program), family support system (most are from a single parent or grandparent home with little support), academic performance (most are performing below grade level), coping or social skills (most struggle with social behaviors and with the ability to emote), and generational patterns (most are from families who continue in the same economic, social, and academic patterns).

The New Horizons of North Texas After-School Program is a transformative initiative designed to provide a nurturing and enriching environment for youth in the North Texas community. Our program is committed to empowering students with the tools and skills necessary to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Through a comprehensive approach that combines academic support, literacy skills, social skills, coping skills, and faith-building activities, we aim to unlock the potential of every participant and foster a generation of well-rounded, confident, and compassionate individuals grounded in faith and God’s love.

Mission

New Horizons of North Texas seeks to empower at-risk youth to reach their full potential through tutoring, mentoring, and faith-building.

Needs

The New Horizons of North Texas After-School Program aspires to be a beacon of hope, empowering the next generation of North Texas youth to navigate life's challenges with resilience, compassion, and determination. By investing in their education, character development, and faith, we aim to create a lasting impact on the lives of our students, their families, and the broader community.

We have been blessed with many supporters of the mission of New Horizons of North Texas almost since our inception. We have been grateful for the ongoing support and belief in our mission. As we move forward into a new strategic plan, remaining faithful to the original calling of the organization, we will be intentional and transparent with our programs as we seek to serve the children of North Texas.

Together, we envision a brighter future, where every young person can embrace their potential and contribute positively to the world around them. We humbly request your support and partnership in making this vision a reality. With your assistance, we can open new horizons of opportunity and growth for the youth of North Texas.
