Needs
Creative communities need creative spaces! That is why Near Southside Arts is excited to announce THE POOL NEAR SOUTHSIDE ARTS SPACE. Located at 1801 8th Ave. — on the ground floor of Everly Plaza — The Pool is a community-centered art gallery featuring 2,400 sq. ft. of exhibition space that opened in March 2022. It is the culmination of decades of art advocacy, dreaming, and planning by a passionate community of artists and arts patrons. Now, we need your financial support for the daily operations and planned program for this vital community space.
Managed by Near Southside Arts, the gallery will provide formal exhibition space for local artists as well as enjoyable and educational art experiences for the community. The Pool is drawn from the Near Southside’s culture of “rebellious creativity” and will serve as a welcoming, adaptable space dedicated to local artists. As a space swimming with talent, The Pool is a space where established artists can make a splash as they debut exploratory works that expand their practice and where emerging artists can dip a toe in the water as they dive into Fort Worth’s art scene. The Pool also partners with local non-profit arts organizations and artist collectives to offer affordable and accessible community art space for group shows, professional workshops, and community engagement. In addition, artists across all media are encouraged to envision the space for their personal exhibitions and invited to work closely with the Near Southside Arts staff to plan events and programming at The Pool.
Sound exciting? We think so too!
